My memories of Italy, and the manner in which the tuscan landscape envelopes all one’s senses, never fades.
This piece, done from memory alone, is one of my favorites … probably because it was such a fabulous place to visit.
I found that the trees… the cypress that form the rank and file borders between farm and vineyard … those trees were as recognizably Tuscan as the terra-cotta roofs and the mellow cream color of the houses. And the colors of the land itself are endlessly fascinating and changeable. Bellissimo!!
Don’t you just love the way they all settle in together to proclaim how comfortable they are? I never tire of looking at the images that live in my mind’s eye, and live in hopes of going back for a refill.
