LEARNING ITALIAN

I am taking Italian lessons, in anticipation of returning to Italy for a holiday in the not too distant future.

This landscape reminds me of the lyric nature of the language.

In Italian one pronounces every letter and stresses each question with an upward tweak, or brings emphasis to the spoken word following a regular predictable pattern.
This piece is composed of repetitive dots and lines and upright squiggles to create a similar feel.
That attention to each and every letter and the emphasis of each beginning and ending is not unlike the tuscan landscape with its sprawling vineyards, olive groves, and cypress trees dressing the rolling hills.
The patterns repeat and repeat, and yet are never exactly the same as they cover new ground … Or create a new meaning.

And, of course there is still much to learn, including those nasty irregular verbs … hence those obscured areas that remain to be explored.
